They will never again be this little……..
You have wait for that first cry out letting you know your baby is here. From that moment you first hold your baby, its true love - an unconditional love. These moments are fleeting and before too long you have a toddler. Before then have the experience of a newborn session and hold the little moments of when your baby while at the smallest.
When should I book the newborn session?
The ideal time to book your newborn session is while you are pregnant . We can tentatively book your newborn session around your due date. Within the first couple days of your baby arriving, please let me know and we can book a date for your newborn session.
For those beautiful sleepy curly poses the best time to capture your newborn photos is when they are 4-11 days old. Babies this age are more likely to be sleepy and curl just like they did when the were still in the womb. Older babies can be more alert and not want to pose as much as a younger baby will. If you have your heart set on sleepy shots please book early.
What can I expect from our newborn session?
Only one family is booked when I do a newborn experience (excludes mini sessions). Therefore I have plenty of time to cater for your session. Sessions are between 2-4 hours in length. This allows plenty of time to feed, comfort and change your baby as needed , so relax & enjoy your newborn experience.
Catering to your babies needs and striving to make sure that they are 110% safe and comfortable through out the session . Being baby lead through out the whole session means that your baby will be well cared for.
We have a beautiful & unique range of props, outfits & blankets for you to choose from. As telling a story is a big part of what we do its even more spacial when you bring in somethings special to include in the photos. this can be a baby blanket that you had when you where a baby or great grandmas teddy bear. Having your input as to what you like and don't like will ensure that we create stunning and masterful photos that you will proudly share and display with your family & friends. Through our design questionnaire this help to create that custom personalized experience for you.
Its important to remember that not every baby can do every pose. While attempts are made please know that the safety of your baby is my number 1 priority. If you baby is not happy, comfortable or the request is down right un-safe than we will stop and move on to something else.
Are sibling and family photos included in the session?
Of course they are with a full newborn session....you are celebrating a wonderfully amazing time, you have welcomed your new baby into the world. I encourage you to have family, parent & sibling photos done.
Both sibling and family photos are done at the start of the session. This way its while they are fresh and interested in what is going on. While I endeavor to capture your children together please understand that not all children will play the game and have their photos taken. Some time we can do a composite shot, which is a number of different photos to produce one photo. This maybe be an option to achieve the sibling photo that you have be thinking about the whole way though your pregnancy.
